It was a memorable outing as the last time we had this was about 8 years ago,and that trip was to Gunung Ledang. It came around this time under the name 'Jagad Raya' and 4 of us ,myself,Kamal,Huz and Reza make decision to explore Pandan Falls in Sungai Lembing ,Pahang. We ended up exploring Sungai Bantang,Bekok Falls while on our way to Pahang as this falls is situated near Bekok Town, about 11km away from the town of Labis,Segamat. We took the N-S highway from Singapore, exit Yong Peng (S) and travels about 45km before reaching this falls. It wasn't really a spectacular one but we didn't manage to swim as i was busy taking lots of pictures with Kamal. We stayed around 1 1/2 hours during which most was spent admiring the beauty which mother nature has to offer. The swim is reserve for Pandan Falls, haha!!,i thought. But things sometimes doesn't goes the way as was planned.
We left Bekok for Pandan Falls, reached there at 2030hrs and the gate was closed. Now what? The weather wasn't on our side and so we had to stay for a while at a nearby mosque. When the weather finally settle down,we moved on to Charas Caves, about 4km away, hoping to find a place to camp overnight. But what comes after is something which is beyond imagination. At the base of the caves,we were attacked by 'ALIEN', terms used by malay as 'Jin'.According to Huz,our 'paranormal',we are not invited,so we got to go.Its already 2350hrs,been driving since morning and now stuck with nowhere to go.Last resort.....hotel in Pahang and it costs us RM80 for 4,not bad!!
Next morning, after breakfast,we set out to Pandan Falls and decided to camp overnight there.Entrance fee is RM3 p/p and overnight camping is chargeable at RM5 p/p.I did explore the upper part of the Falls with Kamal, but nothing to be seen, just a clean, quiet, pristine environment.According to the Park Supervisor,Khalil, there is another falls which await on top but it requires 2 hrs of trekking,RM60 p/p with a compulsory guide. Not this trip though, probably next time.
